Argument from Fallacy

The fallacy definition.

Definition

Argument from fallacy is a logical fallacy where a conclusion is assumed to be false simply because the argument used to support it contains a fallacy. The argument incorrectly assumes that a flawed argument automatically leads to a false conclusion. The fallacy lies in rejecting a claim solely because of defects in the reasoning presented, rather than considering the claim's truth independently.

Example

For example, someone might say, "My opponent argues that the new tax plan will stimulate the economy by citing flawed economic models. Since their argument is based on faulty reasoning, the tax plan must be bad for the economy." In this example, the speaker commits the argument from fallacy. The speaker assumes the tax plan is bad simply because the argument used to support it is flawed, without independently evaluating the plan's potential economic impact.
